I truly enjoy staring into the night sky on a clear dark night. My oldest son always finds the first shooting star. He'd probably say it's because he's so tall (nearly 6 foot 2 inches, an impressive feat for a Teenager).

Our dog (dark blob in foreground) keeps an eye out for moose. Or skunk, but hopefully that was only a one-time thing.

The occasional satellite zips through the sky. Even though we are 99.999% sure it's not a UFO, it's fun to imagine it is.

This photo is a 25 second single exposure.  The longer exposure time gives light on the foreground and mountains even though it is very dark (and there was no moon).
